13 June 2024 – Carlsberg India, a leading global brewer, announces a significant milestone in its ongoing commitment to sustainability with the introduction of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) trucks at its Unnao facility. This initiative underscores Carlsberg's dedication to its ESG goals on ‘Zero Carbon Footprint’ by incorporating sustainable transportation solutions within the brewing industry.

Under this initiative, 20 CNG trucks will be deployed at the Unnao brewery with each truck projected to save over 1450 kg of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions per month. Collectively, these 20 trucks will contribute to a reduction of 29,000 kg of CO2 emissions per month. This initiative not only mitigates Carlsberg's environmental impact but also sets a benchmark for conscious operations within the brewing sector.

Carlsberg Group is committed to achieve a ZERO Carbon Footprint. This aspiration drives the company's relentless pursuit of a more eco-conscious future. This commitment includes targets such as ZERO carbon emissions at our breweries and a 30% reduction in emissions in its entire value chain by 2030. Further, Carlsberg aims to go beyond, striving for net ZERO carbon emissions across its entire value chain by 2040, leveraging carbon reductions from new targets and activities including sourcing , packaging and transportation.

The successful integration of CNG trucks at the Unnao brewery is a significant step in our sustainability journey through eco-mobility.
