Carlsberg India empowers Rajasthan school with water and hygienic facilities

Carlsberg India is committed in protecting shared water resources where water risk is high, as part of their Together Towards ZERO programme. Carlsberg shared their WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) partnership with Desolenator and EcoSoftt, to provide clean water, toilets and handwashing facilities in Alwar, India.

Rajasthan, India - As part of its WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Health) initiative, Carlsberg India has initiated a project towards helping the school children of Government Upper Primary School in Alwar, Rajasthan. The programme successfully culminated in supporting the school with basic educational infrastructure, which were crucial elements of the learning environment in schools. Through this program, facilities such as purified drinking water, re-building toilets, and renovating hand washing have been installed. The collaborative project was implemented in partnership with ECOSOFTT and DESOLENATOR at Jhareda, Alwar.

Mr. Muthuraman Ramanathan, Vice President – Operations, Carlsberg India, said, “It is an honor to be able to contribute to school education. It is the foundation for every child’s future. We wanted to provide a safe and hygienic environment for children to return to school through our WASH initiative. Carlsberg India is committed to creating community partnerships that go beyond reducing water usage at its breweries and help communities across the world.”

As promised by the Carlsberg Group, the project has successfully been completed on time with all undertaken services for the school, like a well for clean drinking water, a 3 HP submarine motor pump, a water dispenser/cooler with RO system, and student toilets.
